“Toronto, okay, so the Maple Leafe lose again tonight to Ottawa. And the word out of Toronto was, obviously, there’s a lot of talk about the UFAs and what they might do. But the word around the Maple Leafs now is that they’re expanding the scope of what they’re considering.
Now I don’t think it’s anything like (Auston) Matthews or (William) Nylander or anything like that. I don’t think we’re talking about that. But like I said, the news around them is that they’re expanding their ideas about what they can consider, and they’re talking a bit more about players with term.

When it comes to Bobby McMann, I’m told it could go either way. I believe there is an expansion that both sides know could happen. The Oilers lost again today to San Jose in a game where they had a lot of defensive issues. From what I’ve heard, I think Edmonton is looking at two options.
A defender who can play on the right side, OEL has done that before, or possibly a third centre. Especially if Ryan Nugent Hopkins remains on the wing. I think they are also considering a center.
They have to move on from (Andrew) Mangiapane. But those, I think, are the two positions that Edmonton is considering strengthening.”
