Scotland Development Program (SDP) – An exciting time to be part of the Scotland Women’s Pathway

The Scotlandpad is in a fantastic place, with all our female squadrons that return to a European competition of a division, and our U21 women who qualify for the Junior World Cup in 2025. The program goes into force, and this is a brilliant time to get involved.

Who is the SDP for?

We welcome athletes who are younger than December 21, 2024, which makes them eligible for selection for the Junior World Cup in December 2025 an important focus of the upcoming cycle.

The SDP is open to players who:

Are eligible to represent Scotland

Are younger than 23 years old on January 1, 2026

Are currently not in the national aspiring or senior squadrons

This is a powerful development of development for ambitious athletes with the potential to reach senior international level.

Open assessment session

An open assessment session for the Scotland development program will take place at:

Peffermill Speelvelden, Edinburgh

Sunday, August 24, 2025

14:30 – 18:00

There are no costs to attend this session.

To be eligible for the SDP, players must fill in the registration form at 9 p.m. on Sunday, August 17, 2025.

Select and support athletes who are able to become senior international players.

Deliver a holistic performance program

Focus on the development of technical, physical, mental and personal excellence.

Achieve success in Junior international competitions

Build strong teams for U21 and other international tournaments, including the Junior European Championships and Junior World Cup.

Foster ambition, cooperation and high standards within the group.

Strengthen the path to senior hockey

Offer clear routes to make progress in the direction of the involvement of the national team.

Promote balanced development

Support athletes to succeed both on and outside the field, in education, career and life.
