NHL Rumors: Colorado and Dallas among teams interested in Evander Kane

NHL Network: Elliotte Friedman on the NHL Network, when asked if anything is moving forward for the Vancouver Canucks Evander Kane. A Kane trade could be more of a trade deadline move rather than being moved before the Olympic trading pause.

Mike Rupp: “Elliotte, if we go to Vancouver, we’ve seen it Kiefer Sherwoodand we thought there would be more to come. Any updates on Evander Kane?

Friedman: “Yeah, so Kane was a little bit amused by the fuss around him. Rick Dhaliwal, one of the reporters out there, and indicated that his agent, Dan Milstein, is now cleared to talk to teams. And I think we’ve known for a while that they’d like to move him, and I think he’d like to go to a playoff team.”

You know, there’s something like that Kevin WeekesI think Colorado and Dallas were up there. I definitely think those teams have shown some interest.

But I always hate saying this because one phone call can change things, but it seems likely he could get a post-Olympic break deal at this point. You know, we’ll see. They play evening. We’ll see if he does something that interests people, but at least earlier[Tuesday]that was kind of the word I got.

I think the Canucks are hoping for a third round pick or something like that. You know, (Carson) Soucy just went for a third round. They are willing to hold if it means they can get a little more, which increases the price. But that’s kind of what they’re looking for right now.

Earlier today I heard probably after the deadline. Although I always hate saying things like that because it’s very easy to make me look stupid.
