Nate Diaz has unfinished business and plans to return to the Octagon to claim what he believes is rightfully his.
The 40-year-old has his sights set on the BMF title, currently held by Max Holloway. Blessed’ will defend next month at UFC 326 against Charles Oliveira in a rematch.
Diaz’s last octagon appearance was in 2022, at UFC 279. Diaz fought Tony Ferguson, submitting the latter in round 4, picking up the Performance of the Night bonus and deciding to part ways with the UFC.
Nate Diaz Returns to the UFC: “I Have Unfinished Business and I Plan on Going and Taking What’s Mine”
Earlier this week, on Wednesday, the 40-year-old southpaw posted on X and announced that he is coming back for the BMF throne. He wrote:
“Let’s not pretend I haven’t started a whole division that adds value to all these guys claiming to be. I’ve been giving chances and mentioning the stupidest fights I haven’t finished yet, and I plan on going as soon as I can and taking what’s mine to start a division one day and the stupidest one at that. You’re welcome motherfuckers. I’ll see you soon, I’m coming👊🏼”

For the unversed, after Diaz scored a victory over Anthony Pettis at UFC 241, he called out Jorge Masvidal and threw out the idea of the “worst mother in the game belt.” During the Octagon interview, which Diaz included in his X post above, he said:
“We’re fighting for the worst mother****er in the game belt, and that’s mine. I’d like to defend him against Jorge Masvidal.”
Prior to Diaz’s next fight, which was against Jorge Masvidal, Dana White announced that they would compete for the BMF title for the first time in UFC history.
Nate Diaz got what he wanted, but… he couldn’t wrap it around his waist, while losing to Masvidal via TKO (doctor’s stoppage). Outside of the UFC, Diaz got revenge on ‘Gamebred’ in the boxing ring in 2024, but he’s still not satisfied.
Dana White has previously stated that Diaz would be welcome back in the UFC if he ever wanted to compete again. The Stockton native, on the other hand, has teased a return at times, but says so everyone on the list “Sucks,” a belief that may delay serious comeback conversations.
But with Conor McGregor, Jorge Masvidal and Nate Diaz all looking to return and the UFC White House card taking shape at the same time, fans can only wait and see what really goes on behind the scenes.
Whether it’s Diaz vs. McGregor 3 or Diaz vs. Masvidal 2 remains the question of the hour.
