February is the month of sports holidays. With each passing day it gets a little brighter and one day suddenly there she is, February’s equivalent of December’s Lucia. The tender little light bearer who reminds that light will eventually overcome darkness. Of course I’m talking about the first drop of snow of the year! For me personally, February is the month I prefer to spend in warmer latitudes, but this month certainly also offers nice moments at home in Sweden. Let’s take a look at some places, excursions and trips that I can recommend in February.
My best travel tips in February: trips, excursions and Swedish gems
#1. Excursions in Sweden in February

When the sun wants to show itself, it actually starts to get that wonderful spring warmth, a feeling that in turn brightens up several coffee moments. Grab a hot chocolate, sandwiches and dress warmly – often a trip into the area is enough to fulfill the February excursion quota. If you’re feeling down, it might be time to head to the nearest city for some sightseeing.

#2. Traveling with children in February: tips for families with children

This month the sports holidays replace each other throughout Sweden. Between weeks 7 and 10, the ski slopes, swimming pools, museums and sports facilities are filled with children who run a lot. Several Swedish spa departments are also open for younger ages during the sports holidays. Personally, I think February is an excellent month for this “The Five B’s”In addition to bathing, the month is very suitable for bowling, cinema, billiards and libraries!

#3. Weekend tips in Sweden in February

A few years ago I heard that a “Coffee Walk” was being organized in Alingsås. Clever concept indeed! For my part, I could easily gather a group of friends and book a weekend trip with the ambition of finding Sweden’s best semla – this pastry that rightly brightens up February. Below I have collected a number of cities that I think make my coffee breaks stand out a little extra.
