The logo visually shows how Chile embraces the global spirit of Special Olympics. The shapes and colors are arranged in a circle to reflect a constant connection. At the center is the long-standing symbol of the Special Olympics, surrounded by icons that reflect Chile’s identity, nature and diversity. Together, these elements express the idea of a shared space where cultures, people and dreams come together without barriers.
Colors and visual elements with powerful meaning
The Santiago 2027 logo incorporates visual elements from Chile’s natural and cultural landscape. A starry sky symbolizes big dreams, personal growth and the idea that every athlete shines in their own way. Flowing waves and round shapes suggest an embrace and represent friendship, support, movement and celebration. The Andes Mountains represent strength, resilience and determination, while the silhouette of a bird reflects freedom, overcoming boundaries and reaching new heights.
Color also plays an important role in telling this story. Warm tones like yellow and orange reflect optimism, energy and the passion athletes bring to every challenge. Green represents growth, innovation and the potential that blossoms when people feel included, while purple celebrates creativity and diversity. Shades of blue, inspired by the air and water of Chile, radiate confidence, calm and dedication, creating a sense of a safe and supportive environment in which athletes can perform at their best.
The Special Olympics World Games Santiago 2027 will take place in Chile’s capital from October 16 to 24, 2027. This is the first time in the organization’s 57-year history that the Special Olympics World Games will be held in South America and the Southern Hemisphere. More than 6,000 athletes from more than 170 countries will come together to compete in 22 sports, connect and celebrate inclusivity, along with coaches, delegations, volunteers, family and spectators.
