Since the 2024 season, Cowboys All-Pro LB Micah Parsons has been eligible for a contract extension. However, the negotiations between Jerry Jones and the Parsons agent are still delayed.
Micah Parsons is in an impasse with the cowboys. There have been verbal fairs back and forth between Parsons and owner Jerry Jones via the media. On Friday, NFL insider Dianna Russini had news about Parsons. She said that the 26-year-old “drastic measures is considering.” That may mean that Parsons ask for an exchange of the team. What does the future have for the former defensive Rookie of the Year?
When do Jerry Jones pay Micah Parsons?
One of the most important problems: Micah Parsons spoke directly with Jerry Jones for several days in the spring. The team believed that those conversations were negotiations and that it had a deal, said several sources of competition.

Since he entered the NFL in 2021, Micah Parsons has been a one -man demolition team. He started 16 of 17 games for Dallas as Rookie, with 13.0 bags and 20 tackles for loss. That was enough to be named Parsons as defensive Rookie of the Year and selected All-Pro of the first team. Parsons followed that in 2022 with 13.5 bags, 13 tackles for loss and starting all 17 games. It was his second consecutive season that earned the first team All-Pro subjessions.
In 2023, Parsons had a career-high 14 bags for the cowboys and all 17 games started. Last season he started 13 of 17 games and missed four because of an ankle injury. Despite missing time, Parsons still registered 12.0 bags for Dallas. Micah Parsons has been a consistent producer for the cowboys and one of the best defenders in the NFL. However, Jerry Jones refuses to pay Parsons.

Dianna Russini of the athletics reported that there is one large dilemma. In the spring, Jerry Joens and Micah Parsons spoke directly about contract negotiations. Jones thought there was a deal, but Parsons told him that every deal had to be negotiated with his agent. When the Parsons agent tried to contact Dallas, they refused and said the pass Rusher already had a deal. The two parties remain in an impasse. At a certain moment the cowboys have to pay parsons or make it available for trade.
