Sometimes that leads to cool crossovers that no one ever expected. Other times things can get a little tricky. You know, like when Conor McGregor almost fought rapper MGK at an awards show a few years ago.
One celebrity who recently crossed paths with a UFC star was Matt Damon, who remains one of the busiest and most respected actors in the film industry.
The fighter Damon came into contact with was Henry Cejudo. Cejudo, as MMA fans know, is a former UFC bantamweight and flyweight champion. He is also a former Olympic medalist in wrestling.
Despite Cejudo’s many accolades, Damon did not initially recognize him when they crossed paths. In fact, it sounds like he sized him up and then totally ignored him because he’s “really small.”
Only later did he realize who he was sharing the space with.
Matt Damon reflects on the meeting with former UFC champion Henry Cejudo
Damon talked about meeting the former UFC champion during an appearance on The Joe Rogan Experience. A normal podcast episode in a studio, not on top of an Egyptian pyramid. See it below:

“This guy walks up and he’s wearing chinos, khaki pants and a blue business shirt with glasses and a button up,” Damon told Rogan, a longtime UFC commentator. ‘He’s very small and I don’t really respect him. I still hear this story and then Patrick says, “Matt, do you know Henry?”
“And I turn around and it’s Henry Cejudo and I’m like, this damn man could destroy me right now. Absolutely destroy me and he’s the guy a dummy would try to bully, you know what I mean? He doesn’t carry himself, he’s just the thing.”
This isn’t the first time UFC fighters have failed to make an impact in mainstream circles as of late. Brian Ortega and Mackenzie Dern recently appeared at the Golden Globes at a time that had almost everyone scratching their heads. Relive that discomfort here.
