According to Team conversationManchester United have increased their interest in signing Eintracht Frankfurt defender Nathaniel Brown during the summer transfer window.
The Red Devils are likely to spend again at the end of the season and are prioritizing three positions. A new left-back is one of them, given the need for more competition for Luke Shaw.
Patrick Dorgu can also operate from the left back department, but the Dane is seen as a wide attacking player. Dorgu has been fantastic on the left wing, recently scoring against Manchester City and Arsenal.

Team conversation claim Brown has been identified by United’s hierarchy as an ideal solution and scouts were on hand to see him in action during Wednesday’s Champions League match against Tottenham Hotspur.
Frankfurt expect the Germany international to leave during the next transfer window. The Bundesliga giants will hold out for at least £40million to part with the highly-rated 22-year-old left-back.
Meanwhile, United plan to appoint a permanent manager who prefers to operate in a 4-2-3-1 formation.
Good potential
Brown was almost always present at Frankfurt last season. He has featured as a left back or left full-back and has impressed with seven goals from 27 appearances in all competitions.
The German also excelled with his defensive involvement. He won 60% of his ground duels with an average of 3 recoveries and 3 tackles per game. He would provide the perfect balance in attack and defense and would suit the playing style of the Red Devils.
Shaw has been a regular starter for United this season and has secured the left-back position under interim boss Michael Carrick. However, the Englishman has a long injury history spanning over a decade, and his workload needs to be better managed.
United will play only forty games this season, without European football and early elimination from the Carabao Cup and FA Cup. However, a return to Europe could see them play more than 60 games next season. Shaw needs a quality competitor next to him.
Dorgu may not be the solution. The Dane feels most comfortable as a winger and is not the best defensively. Brown could be signed to compete with Shaw. At his age, he has the platform to take over from Shaw and become the first-choice left-back for the Red Devils in the future.
