Well -bred four -year -old mare Rose van Clare (Lazarus) continued her impressive form and took her third victory in a row when she scored a difficult win from Harness Racing on Tuesday evening at the mobile pace of the Hiist Torque in Gloucester Park.
Sent a priceless favorite based on her previous two victories that Rose van Clare had a lively battle with Iwill never know before he sat in front. Once in the main director Stuart McDonald, the mare rated to perfection and had her last quarter to save much in a relaxed 30.2 seconds from the Swindler and Cara Diana, who both ended well without ever taking care of the winner.
Rose of Clare is the first of Lazarus’s first harvest of 18 young people, 10 of which have greeted the winners circle.
She is the more than handy Washington VC Mare Askmenow that was bred by Syd and Shona Brown in New Zealand, but found her way to Australia and eventually won 10 races and 12 placements from 49 performances and with a personal record of 1.54.1 that she reached at Pinjarra.
Her connections then brought her back to New -Zeeland and three of her previous descendants who have raced since then, all won, namely foreguined conclusion (Art Major), Scarlett Ribbon (CaptainTreacherous) and Captain Bligh (CaptainTreacherous).
Rose of Clare 12 August Replay
Rose van Clare, who is the last offspring of Askmenow, then traveled to West -Australia, where she is now raced by the local Ashleigh Reeves and trained by her husband Hayden Reeves.
A striking Bay Mare Rose from Clare has a long way to go, but she has made the best possible start and her future is assured, even when she has finished racing because she has the attributes and breeding to make a top brood mare.
