#18 Terriers gave up a rebound goal with 21.2 seconds left in regulation and the Vermont Catamounts skated away with a 3-2 win at Agganis Arena. The win, in the 100th game between the teams, allowed UVM to split the weekend series and snap BU’s streak of 11 straight wins against the Cats.
“I thought we played well enough to win the hockey game,” said a visibly disappointed coach Jay Pandolfo. “A couple of costly mistakes. We lost coverage around the net. We converted one in the neutral zone.
“That’s the way things have gone for us this year, where you make mistakes that you just can’t make at certain times in the game of hockey. But we had plenty of opportunities around the net to put the puck in the net and we didn’t,” he added.
“I thought we didn’t cheat for the most part tonight.”
Vermont took an early lead at 4:19 of the opening period Jax Wismer wristed a shot from the point that sailed past a screen Mikhail Yegorov.

Terriers would have a territorial and shot advantage for much of the period. Just a minute after A Kamil Bednarik‘S scoring opportunity was denied, BU made the score at 11:31 Cole EisermanThe eighth goal of the season. Gavin McCarthy‘s pass through the neutral zone reached Eiserman as he crossed the blue line. His hard wrist shot beat the goalkeeper Aiden Wright low on the glove side. Cole Hutson got the second assist.

First period shots were 14-4 BU.
In the second period, Yegorov made a series of big saves, including one Caeden Herrington who was all alone in the slot.
Than, with just over five minutes left in the period, a Terrier turnover in the neutral zone turned into a 2-on-1 break. David Sacco – son of the former BU All-American of the same name – held the puck as Hutson tried in vain to stop play, then proceeded to Massimo Lombardi for a shot into a half-open side of the net.

Shots for the period were eight apiece and the Cats led 2-1 going into the second intermission.
After several scoring opportunities were spurned by Wright, Terriers scored an equalizer midway through the third period after a great individual effort from Nick Roukounakis. The power forward skated up the right side and made his way to the goalmouth. His first attempt was stopped, but he was able to corral the rebound and fire home for his third goal of the season. Jonathan Morello and McCarthy had the assists.

With seven minutes left in the third, Wright was robbed Jack Harvey as he tried to convert the rebound of Hutson’s shot from the top of the left circle.
In the winning sequence, UVM was able to maintain control behind the BU goal line and set up a shot from the point by Philip Tornqvist. Yegorov made the first save but got caught in a Catamount, allowing it Thomas Sinclair to fire the loose puck home.

BU defeated the Catamounts 32-20, with Vermont blocking 22 Terrier shots.
Strangely for college hockey, no penalties were called for either team.

2026 recruit Tynan Lawrence scored twice and added an assist in Muskegon’s 5-3 victory against Fargo. In seven games he has a scoring line of 8-5-13.

Terriers fell to #7 UConn as the Huskies broke a 2-2 tie with 7.3 seconds left in regulation.
BU took an early lead in the first period Lilly Welcke‘s fourth goal. It was matched by the Huskies on a power play later in the period.
After a scoreless middle period, UConn took its first lead two minutes into the third. But Avery SuprykaThe extra attacker’s goal with four minutes remaining tied the Terriers. It was her first collegiate goal.

The game appeared to be headed to overtime when Meghane Duchesne-Chalifoux connected for the Huskies in the waning seconds.
