Lamine Yamal continues to reach new heights with Barcelona after breaking another record in the UEFA Champions League.

Despite his young age, Yamal is always present in Barça’s starting line-up when fit and continues to set new standards as a teenager.

Lamine Yamal breaks another Champions League record

After his recent recovery from injury, Yamal started the 6-1 defeat of Olympiacos on Tuesday evening. It was his 25th appearance in the competition, making him the youngest player (18 years, 100 days) to reach that number of appearances in the history of the Champions League.

The Spain international surpasses the previous record set by Paris Saint-Germain’s Zaire-Emery, who played his 25th match aged 19 years and 32 days.

Yamal has set records for club and country in his young career. He is already the youngest player to start a match in the Champions League and the youngest to play in the knockouts, while he is the second youngest player to play in the competition (after Youssoufa Moukoko). He is also the second-youngest goalscorer in Champions League history, after Barcelona teammate Ansu Fati.
