Sky Sports reports that Everton has been given a £ 18 million offer for Aston Villa captain John McGinn.
Aston Villa says that John McGinn is not for sale after rejecting £ 18 million from Everton.
David Moyes would see the 30-year-old midfielder as a priority goal and wants to add his leadership, experience and versatility to an Everton side that has missed leaders on the field.
McGinn’s current contract in the club ends in 2027. The Scotland International appeared 49 performances in all matches for Villa last season, scored 4 goals and added 6 assists.

Sky reports that Villa has rejected a bid from us for John McGinn.

I enjoyed McGinn for a few years.
I’m not sure if this was dug out an old rumor by Sky.
A good player, a real Nark, would give us another leader on the field and probably fits with the profile of Moyess and not done and dusted on 30. And have to sell Villa.
Unless Moyes is planning to loan ijbbunam or Armstrong or to think ahead for the loss of Gana in January, plus perhaps a replacement for the soon 36-year-old, I am not convinced by this one.

No idea why we would offer £ 18 million for a 30-year-old if we have Gana, Garner, Dewsbury-Hall, etc.
He is perhaps a decent player, but it is unlikely that he would like to leave Villa for us. This is not the type of signing that I want to see, especially if we don’t have the added games of European football to consider.
I prefer to give it to Armstrong for minutes when we ‘rotate’ … and I certainly do not remember that Moyes is big in that.

I feel that he is his best. He is now too slow.

Why? It makes no sense to offer £ 18 million, it is laughable.
Bollocks from Sky for sure.

£ 18 million is nothing in the current market, to be honest, even for a 30-year-old.

I’m not sure if this is true or not.
However, Everton certainly needs an extra central midfielder before the window closes.
Gana will leave for the African countries until a month, and we cannot only rely on Tim IroEbbunam and Harrison Armstrong as coverage.

This does not happen.
I doubt if I even made an offer.
He is central to their team and they have not made any signing.

Chris Beesley was broken down at the ultrasound:
John McGinn Transfer Stance described by Everton after claims of more than £ 18 million offer
Everton retained an interest in McGinn earlier this summer and there were questions last month, but no bid was made.
Insiders are ‘bewildered’:
“How do you feel?”
“I feel stunned.”
“I also … can’t explain it completely.”
“Methinks The great old name of Everton is used to rinse the interest of the magpies instead.”

Feels more as an agent who wants a new deal TBH.
He is a player. Not a cheap deal, but someone who can help get to the top 10. Can play multiple positions and is decent on set pieces.
Hayden Hackney is a better gamble in the long term. Andrey Santos and Lavia in Chelsea must be considered on loan or permanent for the first.

Appreciate that this could be submitted under BS, but – and this is not specific to McGinn – I am good if we sign 30 -year -olds to bring some experience, nous and leadership to the team. We desperately need this in addition to the young players with whom we are mainly connected. A mix of young raw talent with a sprinkling of one or 2 experienced pros is very logical, especially in cm, and I am talking more about the 6/8 position where we have Gana and many young people. Even Dewsbury Hall has not had that much top flight experience for a 26 -year -old

I think McGinn is beyond his best, agree with Ian, Hackney a better gamble and he has rejected Ipswich. It seems that Luiz is on its way to forest, we still need a defensive midfielder with Gueye 36 next month.

Wonder if Moyes Brother is his agent.
I would have welcomed him 5 years ago, but now at 30 and 18m he would block someone else’s progress such as Armstrong.
Get Brownhill for free for a similar player.

Andrew#12, I didn’t agree with that anymore. Not necessarily McGinn, but a good Nark to help Tark would be invaluable.

McGinn is a very good midfielder, but we should have went for him when Alan Stubbs was Hibs manager and he recommended him to us.
It sounds like Moyes wants another midfielder, so it would not surprise if he now goes to West Ham for Soucek.

I am tired of reading that we are behind a player who does not want to find out, the club is not interested in selling or the deal is not to our liking.
Although much of it is KLAZAAS, there are certainly many cases in which we are depicted as a desperate unattractive club.
What happened to doing research and testing availability before he dives.
Very not impressed by the so -called Elite Recruitment team so far.
