To strengthen Indo-German cooperation in the healthcare sector, the new German Language Examination Center was inaugurated at Karnataka German Technical Training Institute (KGTTI), Peenya. To speed up the process, KVSDC has already started selecting candidates, mainly nurses, who will undergo structured German language training to support their professional migration path to Germany.
“This program will help healthcare and nursing professionals across Karnataka meet the language standards essential for employment in Germany, where German language proficiency at B2 level is mandatory for registered nurses,” said Dr. Sharanaprakash R. Patil, Minister for Skill Development and Medical Education.
Established by the German Federal Ministry of Health, DeFa plays a crucial role in ensuring ethical, transparent and efficient recruitment of international health professionals. telc exams are aligned with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) and provide globally recognized certifications for study, work and residence in Germany.
Bruno Carlesso, Director Global Business, telc, who signed the MoU on behalf of Germany, stated that the establishment of the KVSDC-telc exam center at KGTTI marks an important milestone in enabling accessible, high-quality language certification pathways for aspiring healthcare professionals from Karnataka and India.
The event was attended by German Deputy Consul General Annett Baessler, Anoop Achuthan Director India and South East Asia, DeFa, Shivakantamma Naik Chairman, KVTSDC, R. Ragapriya and NM Nagaraja.
