UFC Light Heavyweight Ster Jiri Prochazka has revealed that he came close to confronting Magomed Ankalaev and his manager prior to UFC 320.
Last weekend Jiri Prochazka got away with a huge victory when he eliminated Khalil Rountree JR in Las Vegas. On the same map, Magomed Ankalaev lost his UFC Light Heavyweight Championship because he was defeated via TKO by Alex Pereira – the same man that he struck before the belt earlier this year.
Jiri Prochazka was in the crowd during Pereira’s victory over Ankalaev, and he seemed to be quite emotional in the result. Since then he has suggested that it was partial because he is enthusiastic about a trilogy with Pereira, but he was also not happy with a part of the garbage thrown by Ankalaev on social media (or perhaps his manager Ali Abdelaziz).

“Before this fight (against Rountree) I was willing to go for his manager (Abdelaziz) or Ankalaev and tell him:” What the F -was this S -Why? Why did you do that? I didn’t attack you with something, so why did you speak these bulls -? “
“My coach told me:” Jiri, calm. Our fight is now Khalil Rountree. Let’s be focused on this. Don’t be aimed at someone else. ‘
“I just kept that, yes. And I am glad I did. I don’t like to focus on someone else for a fight,” Prochazka added.

Jiri is a real martial artist and he has clearly never been anyone who believes too much in the ‘dirt nisse’ side of things. Unfortunately, given the fact that Carlos Ulberg could stand in line for the next recording on the title, there is every chance that the UFC can be made up to book by Prochazka vs Ankalaev.
