NEW YORK – Jeline Vandromme and Ivan Ivanov added new trophies to their collections on Saturday and conquered the US Open Junior Boys and Girls titles in straight sets.
Vandromme achieved the Swedish qualifying-Lea Nilsson 7-6 (2), 6-2 in the trekking of the girls, overcoming an early shortage and fighting by a Tie break to take the first set before he was accelerated to get the second.
“I don’t think I can still believe it,” Vandromme said after the victory on the field. “I am very happy with my week here, with the level I showed,”
This year the Belgian player was on a hot streak in New York and disturbed no. 2 Hannah Klugman and no. 3 Kristina Penickova on the way to the final.
On the boy’s side, the rule of Wimbledon -boys champion Ivanov added a handy one still a SLAM title to his growing list of awards. The number 1 seed brought down fellow countryman Alexander Vasilev 7-5, 6-3 in an all-Bulgarian matchup celebrated by countless Bulgarian flags in the Stan Ds.

In Doubles, Sisters Alena Kovackova and Jana Kovackova took the victory over Vromme and her partner, Laima Vladson, while Keaton Hance and Jack Kennedy won the title of the boys about Noah Johnston and Benjamin Willwerth in a full-American final.
