Charlottetown, PE – History was written under the Saturday Night Lights on Red Shores Racetrack and Casino in the Charlottetown Driving Park, where Gilles Barrieau played an amazing nine harness races winners on the 14-Dash program, covered by Twin B Tuffenufface shocker in 1: 52.
The night started with Barrieau that Rookie cattle call ($ 4.20) sent directly to the point in race 1, and the two -year -old never looked back and stopped the clock in 1:57 for trainer Ronnie Matheson.
That victory set the tone for what would come.
Race 3 was more Barrieau when the New Brunswick -resident first -year student Woodmere Mahomes ($ 2.10) led to a difficult score in 1:57 for his own stable. Then in race 4 damaged Barrieau his time without Mo -fear ($ 3.10) before he jumps late to deliver in 1: 57.1 for trainer Paul Doyle.
Due to race 5, the momentum was unmistakable for the New Brunswick Sports Hall of Fame driver, while Evil Lou ($ 4.40) called in the jets in 1: 54.4 for trainer Mike McGuigan, who marked the fourth victory of the Night of Barrieau.
In race 7, Barrieau was quickly back with it when he cut the fractions with Rockemsockem Scott ($ 4.60) to win in 1: 54.4 for trainer Matheson and then immediately returned to the circle of the winner in race 8 with Check Your Sour ($ 5.20) scored in 1: 56.4 for trainer.
Barrieau replied again in race 11 by perfectly assessing Jewelry Dragon ($ 6.70) at the front and stopping the clock in 1: 55.2 for Trainer Landon Campbell.
ON Septad on septe septe septe septe seps 2015 and bound by David Dowling in 2022.
But this time history demanded more and Barrieau delivered 14 final in the race. Barrieau stood in line with Twin B Tuffenuff ($ 11.90) of post 8 in the $ 5,000 preferred pace. The veteran Pacer left hard from the outside to hit the front and then let go of the heavy favorite bees (driven by Jason Hughes), back to the lead to stem from the bag on the way to half. Twin B Tuffenuff and Barrieau spoke in the Stretch Drive and BRULden to win in 1: 52.3 for trainer Matheson’s Fourth of the Night, this time for owner Patrick Morris by Charlottetown. It was not only the fastest mile of the night, but also the ninth winner of Barrieau – an achievement that has never before been achieved in modern maritime racing.

The victory overshadowed the long-standing modern eight-win markings in Atlantic Canada. Mike Lachance completed the performance on 3 August 1982, during a 16-dash super card on Fredericton Raceway, while Steve Mahar corresponded to the same New Brunswick Oval on 8 September 1993. Barrieau itself had matched the benchmark with eight victories at Exhibition Park Raceway in 2006. His masterpiece with nine-win is now as the Pei riding record of all time for a single card and the modern maritime record. Joe O’Brien’s 11 wins at Truro Raceway 83 years ago in 1942, the historical goal post about the Atlantic Canadian Ledger of all time.
From start to finish, the map of Barrieau was from 6 September 2025.
Live racing will take place on Tuesday evening at 6 p.m. at Red Shores Summerside.
