Jamal Hossain was named the winner of the Telangana Golconda Masters after the last round was abandoned due to heavy rainfall in Hyderabad on Friday.
The tournament was decided on the 54-hole scores, because no game was possible in the fourth round because of the bad weather, the PGTI said.
For Hossain (61-62-64), who led the field with four shots after round three on 23 under par 187, it was a sixth PGTI title and the first since November last year.
The 40-year-old from Dhaka gathered a wallet of RS 15 Lakh who lifted him from 14one to 10one Place on the PGTI order of merit.
Akshay Sharma from Chandigarh (62-64-65) finished second on 19 under 291 and collected RS 10 Lakh who brought him from 34one Place up to 21star On the earnings list.
Khalin Joshi (65-66-66) from Bangalore became third on 13 under 197.
Holding position
The sixth place for Arjun Prasad of Delhi at 11 under 199 kept him second on the merit list of the income of the season of RS 69.71.599.
Chandigarh golfer Yuvraj Sandhu, who played on the Asian Tour, maintains his lead on the money list with RS 88.67,200.
Vishsh Sharma from Hyderabad had the best result among the local golfers with a part of 22ND Place 5vunder 205.
Hossain dominated all three rounds and led to finish. After the first round he was low of 61 for one by a tournament.
Lump
He expanded his lead to three shots halfway through the stage with a 62 and then extended his lead to four shots after his 64 in round three. He only dropped one bogey over 54 holes.
“I am delighted to finally have won this season after I got around a few times,” Hossain said later.
“I would like to come out and play the last round, but the weather is not in our hands. However, I have the feeling that I was quite consistent all week thanks to my driving and places.
“The first round of 61 has just set up the tournament for me.
“My next big goal is to perform well and to leave a stamp in the DP World India Championship in Delhi next month. I feel that my form builds up well to that event.”
