Manchester United are considering whether to sell youth wonderkid Harry Amass despite his impressive form on loan.

Last season the 18-year-old was handed his United debut by Ruben Amorim and by the end of the season he earned a total of seven senior caps.

Given United’s lack of investment last summer, the head coach was expected to keep the England U19 international in the squad heading into the new season.

However, it was quite surprising that new signing Diego Leon was included in the Premier League squad, with the Carrington graduate sent on loan to Sheffield Wednesday.

Harry Amass has been loaned out

Despite playing for a cash-strapped team rooted to the bottom of the Championship, the London-born top continued to impress.

He made 17 starts, scoring a goal and an assist, while also being named the club’s Player of the Month for November.

His form has attracted the attention of the Championship’s top clubs, with there even being rumors of a return to Manchester.

However, Amorim’s recent comments have meant a return is off the table, with the Owls confident of retaining his services for the second half of the season.

His future will be determined next summer

And now, according to The sun”The Red Devils are having a discussion about what to do with the left back when he returns from his loan contract next summer.

His contract expires in 2027 and next summer will be the club’s last chance to earn a decent fee from his sale.

“Several Championship teams – including Millwall and Stoke and others vying for promotion – have shown an interest in Amass.

“It is expected that United will make a final decision on whether to keep or sell him next year as his contract expires in 2027.

Harry Amass and Amorim spat

“United manager Ruben Amorim has struggled to settle on a regular left-wing starter after playing against Diogo Dalot and Patrick Dorgu.

“Despite Amass’s great form for Henrik Pedersen’s side, his recent status at United has been dented by a number of ill-advised attacks at Amorim.”

Those jabs include responding to Amorim’s comment about “struggle,” which was lost in translation. Harry Amass then uploaded a photo to social media, which he later quickly deleted.

It would be a big mistake to sell him given his obvious potential. Hopefully United can agree a new contract and if no space becomes available in the first team, United can loan him out to a Premier League side in the future.
