Graham Potter was fired by West Ham United only two days before they are opposed to Everton in the Premier League.
The club said that “a change is needed” to improve the fortunes of the team and to prevent a relegation struggle this season.
Potter won only six of his 25 games since he was in charge of the Hammers in January when he replaced Julen Lopetegui, just one day after the Spaniard himself was fired.
West Ham has only won one of their opening of five Premier League matches, giving them 19th place in the table. They were also eliminated from the League Cup after a 3-2 second defeat against Wolves.
Potter’s coaching staff, including former Chelsea caretaker manager Bruno Salter, are also with immediate dismissals.
A club statement was: “Results and performance in the course of the second half of last season and the start of the 2025/26 season are not agreed, and the Board of Directors are of the opinion that a change is needed to help improve the position of the team in the Premier League as quickly as possible.”
The statement continued: “The board wants to thank Graham and his coaching staff for their hard work during their time at De Hammers and wish them every success for the future.
“The process of appointing a replacement is underway. The club will not comment any further at the moment.”
