It has been in the making for a while, and one that reportedly divided the Newcastle United Squad.
Alexander Isak has been absent for some time in the Newcastle United Squad, with what was first reported as an injuries.
And the actions of the striker did not go unnoticed by Eddie Howe and the team that have been on their tour through Asia.
With all the parties that have now been set to return to the northeast before the Sela Cup and opening residue of the Premier League campaign against Aston Villa, Howe has sent a Stark -warning to last season’s top scorer …
Speaking with the Craig Hope of the Post after today’s 1-1 draw with Spurs, Howe has tackled the upcoming situation with Isak before everyone’s return to the northeast for further training for the season this coming week.
With how openly Isak has insisted on a move to Merseyside in the past fourteen days, Howe has laid down the law and the striker told that he does not expect too much from a welcome return to the side.
His message touches the perfect note and is fantastic, strong man management of the boss, who said:
“You have to earn the right to train with us.”
“We are Newcastle United. The player here has a responsibility to be part of a team and to be part of a team.
“You have to act in the right way. So that also plays here.”
“No player can expect to act poorly and then normally train with the group.”
It is a daring movement of Howe and one that drives home the message; Nobody is bigger than the club and he will not openly accept the wrong approach to training, even if it is our top player.
Either Isak sets his wishes aside, acts professionally and goes back to work, or he is on the wrong side of a manager – and a team – who has done so much for him in the last three seasons.
Howe has rather optimistic that a solution could be found for Isak to stay with the team and that all the problems he has had, can be resolved and resolved before the start of the season.
But Craig Hope has revealed that there is a ‘growing acceptance’ within the club that the 25-year-old is indeed on his way to this window.
Although the public position of the club remains the same: Isak is not for sale and every sale would be on our conditions with regard to reimbursement and installments.
After the first £ 110 million offer from Liverpool was quickly rejected, we seem to expect that the Reds will return with a British record compensation, but this must of course tailor to us who brings in a striker like Benjamin Sesko to immediately replace the departing Isak.
