The Winnipeg Jets (3-1-0) have returned to Manitoba after a successful two-game road trip to the East Coast and now prepare for their second Central Division game of the season when the Nashville Predators (2-1-2) visit the city on Saturday evening (6:00 PM Central start).
The team from Windy City, Canada, received good news as captain Adam Lowry He lost the non-contact jersey in training and it seems so close to his debut in 2025/26… but probably not today. Unfortunately, the other two injured skaters don’t seem as close to returning since then Cole Perfetti hasn’t even started skating yet after his ankle injury and while Dylan Samberg has been tying his skates for a while now, one of his wrists is still in a cast.
The Predators haven’t completely escaped the injury bug, though they are in much better health than the Jets. Nashville continues to have trouble with free agent signings after last year’s major signings. Steven Stamkos & Jonathan Marchessaulthad a hard time offensively. This time a newly inked defender Nicholas Haag suffered an injury before the regular season even started, depriving his new club of his services in early October.
Winnipeg is riding a three-game winning streak, while Nashville has dropped their last two games before the two rivals face off at the Canada Life Centre. The Predators leading scorer so far has been Erik Haula with a few goals and assists (4 pts), while Jets fans have witnessed it from top center Mark Scheifele explode for 5 goals and 3 assists (8 pts) in just 4 games.

With the captain recovering, time may be limited for the rookies to impress the coaching staff, so I’m a little disappointed that Nikita Chibrikov didn’t get another chance…although I’m a fan of it Parker Ford’s grinder with a touch of playing style. Well, the Winnipeg Jets got their fourth straight win and the scoreboard made it feel like the game against Nashville was never really in question. However, the statistics show that our club once again performed better in the expected goals/shot statistics, relying on a league leading 17.95 shooting percentage. To give you an idea of how much that figure is above the norm, the True Northers had an 11.87% rating in their President’s Trophy winning campaign. In other words, the way the Jets are racking up wins now isn’t exactly sustainable. The good news is that Adam Lowry nearing a return, which should help some and I’ll withhold any real panic until Winnipeg has a fully healthy roster and is still being outplayed. Connor Hellebuyck was the star of the game, but Vladislav Namestnikov, Jonathan ToewsAnd Nino Niederreiter were also impressive against the Preds.
