Oliver Glasner does not think Marc Guehi will leave Crystal Palace for Liverpool or Manchester City in the January transfer window.

The centre-back, who almost joined the Reds on Deadline Day last summer, has entered the final six months of his contract, meaning he can leave the club on a free transfer at the end of the season.

Liverpool remain interested in signing Palace’s captain, while City are considering an approach this month after Josko Gvardiol broke his leg.

Neither club has made a final decision on whether to replace Guehi, but Glasner believes the defender will spend the rest of the season at Selhurst Park.

Glasner makes a transfer prediction for Guehi amid Liverpool-City ties

“I think Marc will stay, but if Marc says, ‘I want to leave’, and a club pays a huge amount of money – with five months left on his contract – every player will leave when you play for a club like Crystal Palace,” the Austrian told Sky Sports.

“I’m pretty sure our chairman will ask a very high price for him and then let’s see. I don’t know if Marc wants to leave.”

“Right now, when I see him playing, when I see him training, when I see his dedication and when we talk together very often, I think the fans can be very calm, but you never know what will happen in football.”
