UFC legend Kamaru Usman believes Gable Steveson could receive an offer from the Ultimate Fighting Championship sooner or later.
Many within the martial arts world will be aware of the Gable Steveson story. He was a wrestling sensation who had great success at the Olympics, went on to test the waters with WWE and eventually tried his hand at football with the Buffalo Bills. Ultimately, that led him to mixed martial arts, where he currently has a 2-0 record Jon Jones to help coach him.
Gable Steveson has all the potential in the world and that much is clear. He’s already been tipped to make the move to the UFC, but many people obviously want him to improve his game a bit before he’s thrown in at the deep end.
In one recent episode of their podcastKamaru Usman and Henry Cejudo debated Gable Steveson’s future in mixed martial arts.
Kamaru Usman’s take on Gable Steveson
Usman: “I think he can definitely get the offer – right now, to be honest.”
Usman: “As far as coming into the company, it’s about the exposure, because let’s face it, power is currency. If you can get that power, you’re in the UFC now. You saw what Bo Nickal did. I’m sure Gable wants a little bit of that, and Gable is extremely talented. He can have a lot of success. If the UFC offers it, I don’t think he’ll turn it down.”
Cejudo: “If Gable is smart, I wouldn’t do that. I would hold that record, he would have to be at least 6-0, 7-0 before he jumps right into the big leagues.”
Usman: “Yes, but if he keeps up the pace, he could be 6-0 by the middle of this year.”
