A MEANING OF LIFE 15/8 overall – 1.5 WINNING POINTS
It feels like the world has gone Dan Skelton mad and every horse he puts in a race at Cheltenham either becomes favorite or is shorter than it should be. The form book says otherwise with Fortune De Mer (at time of writing 11/4) who was beaten over hurdles on debut and will need to improve immensely to upset UN SENS A LA VIE in my opinion.
I think Nigel and Willy Twiston Davies have a real horse on their hands with UN SENS A LA VIE, I really think he has the potential to go straight to the top if they take good care of him. The Twiston Davies family have had some great horses over the years, but they have been guilty of overdoing it in the past and I only hope they will look after these horses. Bring him here, possibly at the November meeting and then one more time for Cheltenham.
To be fair, they have looked after him so far when they bought him after winning point to point in October 2024. He had one run at Market Rasen in a bumper last season and won with ease and that was it for the season.
He made his debut over obstacles on the same course 10 days ago and what a start it was. He still had plenty left in the tank, despite making a mistake after two obstacles. He has a nice stride, a stride that will work well on a course like Cheltenham, with the waves. I also think he will stay a little further out so the Cheltenham hill will also play to his strengths.
I imagine Sam Twiston Davies will go up front and keep it simple and keep pushing the pace.
Barring any mishaps, I am confident he will win this race and win well. WIN.
