Entering the Malaysian underbone market is the 2025 Modenas Z15GT, priced at RM8,288 excluding road tax, insurance and registration. The Z15GT enters a highly competitive motorcycle sector in Malaysia, in the 150cc kapchai segment.
The main competition for the Z15GT comes from the Yamaha YZ15R and the Honda RS-X Winner 150, as well as the Suzuki Raider R150 Fi. Three colors will be offered – Graphite Grey, Nardo Gray and Rosso Red – and deliveries of the Z15GT to Modenas and Kawasaki dealer showrooms will begin on October 27.
With the aim of selling 27,000 units of the Z15GT in Malaysia annually, Modenas also wants to tackle the export market in the Philippines, Greece, Türkiye and Cambodia between 2026 and 2030. Developed in-house by a dedicated team of 31 Malaysian engineers, designers and technicians in collaboration with Kawasaki Motors Corporation (KMC). Eight Malaysian engineers trained with Kawasaki in Japan, while others underwent specialized engine design training in Austria.

Touted as Modenas’ most advanced motorcycle yet, the Z15GT comes with a single-cylinder, liquid-cooled mill displacing 149.5 cc. Engine power is said to be 16.76 hp at 9,500 rpm, with 13.5 Nm of torque at 7,500 rpm, which goes to the rear wheel via a six-speed gearbox and chain final drive.
Braking for the Z15GT is done with single hydraulic discs at the front and rear, with single-channel ABS acting on the front brake. The suspension uses conventional telescopic forks at the front and a monoshock with adjustable spring preload at the rear.
The Z15GT weighs 128 kg, has 5.7 liters of fuel in the tank and has a seat height of 780 mm. The wheel size is 17 inches front and rear, shod with 90/80 front and 120/70 rear tires.
