Erling (14.1m) marked his 100th Premier League performance with a goal, although Manchester City eventually had a 2-1 loss against Brighton and Hove Albion on Sunday.
Here are our explorations of the Amex Stadium.
Haaland Goal …
More than 2.2m Fantasy Premier League (FPL) managers selected Haaland as their captain in game week 3, and the Norwegian validated their confidence by finding the net at the Amex Stadium.
He also claimed the maximum bonus for a return of nine points, although it had the potential to be even better.
Haaland picked up a total of seven shots and could easily have yielded a hat trick in the first half, with one poor finish, one attempt that flashed wide from the pole and a header that was saved well.
But he brought City first with his fourth chance, while he poked at home after a decent work of Omar Marmoush (£ 8.4 million), who claimed the assist.

… but city struggle
The goal of Haaland in the 34th minute turned out to be the last shot of the city on goal.
Their finish was generally quite quirky, so Brighton could turn it around in the second half.
Oscar Bobb (£ 5.5 million), who is one of only five outfield city players who started all three games this season, should probably have found the net and poke it wide from a decent position.
Tijjani Reijnders (£ 5.7 million) was now full of efforts, but could not register a penalty box touch. At least he took a few corners and free kicks.

It is back to the drawing table for City, with Manchester United and Arsenal after the international break.

Cherki injury, Foden Latest + Rodri returns
Rayan Cherki (£ 6.5 million) missed the trip to Brighton and has since been excluded for “seven or eight weeks”.
The Frenchman Allegedly a “quadriceps tear”.
“He’s two months out. Seven or eight weeks.” – Pep Guardiola on Rayan Cherki
Phil Foot (£ 8.0 million) was also absent in game week 3, described as “not completely fit”.
In better news, Abdukodir Khusanov (£ 5.4 million) was removed with a knock, but Pep Guardiola played the problem and said, “I think Khusa is okay”.
Elsewhere, Rod (£ 6.4 million) was back in the city that started on Sunday XI.
Making his first start since he returned from an ACL injury, he completed the most passes (87), had the most accents (109) and achieved 10 defensive contributions (Defons), including eight recovery.
Brighton’s Subs
The side of Pep Guardiola was under control until Brighton made four changes halfway through the second half.

From that moment on, the momentum shifted, with James Milner‘s (£ 5.0 million) 67th-minute fine-leveling of things. Neither Danny Welbeck (£ 6.4 million) or Matt O’Riley (£ 5.5 million) were on the field when it was taken.
Brajan Gruda (£ 5.4 million), which was fantastic, three shots and one key pass registered in just 34 minutes of football, completed the comeback.
“I think this can be a signal for him [Gruda] That if he trains hard, if he plays consistently, if he pushes his limits, he can be a game change for every team in the world. We saw his potential last season; He has special things in him, he can do special things, he can change the game in one situation, and now it is important that he proves it consistently. He proved it [in the 6-0 Carabao Cup win] He proved it against Oxford today. I hope he has a good international break with Germany, and hopefully he will return to excellent condition, and then he will have a big impact for us. ” – Fabian Hurzeler on Brajan Gruda
Elsewhere, Replace Georgia Rutter (£ 5.9 million) Welbeck replaced at the top of the hour and forced one storage of James Trafford (£ 5.0 million), who held his place in goal despite his fault against Tottenham Hotspur last week.
Trafford also did well to stay outside Kaoru Mitoma (£ 6.4 million) and Yankuba MINTEH (£ 5.9 million), who bank Defcon points and anything but score.
As far as Brighton is concerned, only two teams have produced a higher expected goals (XG) in game week 1-3 (6.21).
It suggests that they will be a real test for the defense of Bournemouth, Spurs and Chelsea after the international break.
Mats Wieffer (£ 5.0 million), meanwhile, missed on Sunday because of a “small knee issue”.
