Quarterback of the week: QB Nathan Rourke, British Columbia

This should not be a surprise for anyone who watched the competitions last weekend. The lions rolled along the Montreal Alouettes 36-18 behind a stellar version of Nathan Rourke, who threw 382 Yards and four touchdowns. He led the competition with four large throws to only one turnover -worthy game and was at the top of all the quarterbacks in the percentage of passing yards that came through the air (73.0%). Rourke also added 31 hasty yards to two clambering and earned the highest class of the week at 93.5 in general.

Rourke is now in second place among all the quarterbacks in PFF-degree (90.6), fed by a competition-best 19 large throws and an 88.9 hasty figure.

Offensive player of the week: RB Justin Rankin, Edmonton

The matchup of each with the Toronto Argonauts was technically not a must-win, but it was a game that they could not afford to lose and delivered Kevin Rankin. He put the team on his back in a crucial victory and led the competition with an 82.1 hasty figure. Rankin wore the ball 13 times for 92 Yards, forced three missed tackles and won 57 Yards after contact. He also led all players in receiving class (90.1), the caught of all five of his goals for 87 Yards and forced two missed tackles after the catch.

His all-round dominance resulted in a general figure of 87.3, third of all attacking players for the week.

Offensive line of the week: Winnipeg Blue Bombers

This was a difficult call, because last week there was no offensive line with a dominant version. But the Winnipeg Blue Bombers earn the nod after a quiet solid show, despite the fact that they did not place any player in the team of the week. Although the device did not get much of a stamp in the Run game, it excelled in pass protection. On 37 dropbacks, the bombers were zero bags, two hits and only four in a hurry. Their 97.3% pass-block profit percentage and 74.1 pass-blocking level both led the competition for the week. Correct Tackle Kendall Randolph stood out, did not put pressure on and took only one loss of pass block.

Pass Rusher of the Week: Ed Brandon Barlow, Edmonton

The Line of Defense of the Edmonton Elk’s Toronto Argonauts dominated and generated a stunning 34 total pressure together with seven extra passtrush victories. The leader’s leader was Barlow, who placed a competition-high 12 total pressure. He wiped the board statistically, and was at the top of the competition in the profit rate of the Passrush (34.3%), pressure percentage (34.3%), Pass-Rush Productivity (18.6) and Pass-Rush figure (86.0). In the week, Barlow 39 Pass-Rush had victories, but only 13 total pressure, so the Elk must be satisfied that he finally converted those victories into production into an elite percentage.

Run Defender of the Week: LB Darnell Sankey, Montreal

The Run defense of Montreal was not particularly impactful this week and handed over 81 Yards to BC that James Butler walks back. But Linebacker Darnell Sankey did everything he could to keep the damage under control. Sankey led the competition with nine solo-tackles against the run, including a week-high five solo stops. He did not register any negative grad game on 19 Run-Defense-Snaps, ending with a competition-best 89.5 Run-Defense figure.

Coverage Player of the Week: CB Garry Peters, British Columbia

It has not been the Lockdown season of recent years for Peters, who has been aimed almost as often this year (38) when he was last season (42) and allowed more Yards (326 versus 297). But this week he looked more like his old self. He was the target eight times and allowed five catches, but he only gave himself over 18 meters and only one first down. He also broke two steps and registered six tackles in coverage, including three solo -stops.

His 80.4 coverage of the cover was only the third time this season, he erased the 80.0 threshold. The lions must be hopeful, this signals a return to form for the All-Star Cornerback.
