Call for Entry: Screen NSW’s Pathways Development Program | Television tonight

Up to $30,000 in funding for three emerging NSW creatives with disabilities to develop a big screen project.

Applications are now open for Screen NSW’s Pathways Development Programan initiative designed to increase participation and support the continuation of on-screen careers for emerging NSW creatives with disabilities.

The program is designed to support emerging writers with disabilities with targeted guidance and funding to develop an original feature-length film project to a pitch-ready stage.

Screen NSW Acting Executive Director Karla Lampe said: “A thriving screen sector reflects the range of distinctive and diverse voices we have in NSW. Through the Pathways Development Program, Screen NSW will support the development of authentic storytellers and stories and ensure creatives with disabilities continue to progress in their careers.

“I’m excited to see what new voices we discover through the program as we work towards a more inclusive screen industry.”

The Pathways Development Program provides up to $30,000 in funding for three creative teams, and eligible projects must include a NSW-based producer who is at least mid-career, a NSW-based writer with a disability, and a playwright, journalist, audio dramatist, podcast screenwriter or author who has professionally produced, published or distributed at least one work.

The program will encourage a more inclusive screen sector, supporting NSW creatives to build their professional networks with the industry, develop their strong and distinctive creative voices, and leverage further development support or secure market funding with a pitch-ready project.

Screen NSW is looking for projects that are compelling, distinctive and have a strong sense of their audience. There are no restrictions on subject or style for projects, and alumni of the previous Screenability Film Fund are encouraged to apply.

Registration closes on Thursday April 2 at 5:00 PM.
