Bulletin: September 23, 2025 – Watertown’s Win Streak ends at 103

The Field Hockey program of Watertown (Mass.) Has developed a number of remarkable performances since Eileen Donahue took over the main coaching position in 1986.

The many competition championships and state titles, in the course of more than 750 victories since then, speak for themselves. But in terms of consistency for a long time, the Raiders stand in themselves in this regard: they are the only school hockey program that has two 100-game winning streaks.

That is, for 100 games (about five complete seasons in Massachusetts) to get away with something other than a loss or a draw.

The first streak was a 124-game extraction streak from 2011 to 2017. That was part of a record 184 game undefeated streak of 2009-2017. More recently, the Raiders have put together a line of 103 game, which today is the longest current win-series in all scholastic sports, according to MaxPreps:

That is, until Julie Pacheco of Somerset-Berkley Regional (Mass.), The Sitting Division 2 Champions, the demanding goal of the fourth quarter on Victory Field scored to beat the sitting Division 3 champions from Watertown with a score of 4-3.

This ends the current streak at 103, but naturally enables Watertown to start a new one.

In terms of stripes, however, the one who is perhaps the most impressive of the Eileen Donahue era can, the fact is that Watertown has closed every opponent for 41 straight matches from 2021-2023. That’s right; No goals allowed. And that line was a subset of the streak that ended today about eight miles west of Boston.
