Chicago – Tylor Megill’s next pitch in the large competitions will probably not be until 2027.
The right-handed Mets underwent Tommy John operation on Monday, according to manager Carlos Mendoza, and is expected to rehabilitate the following season.
Megill started 14 games for the Mets this season and threw on an ERA of 3.95 before he was placed on the injured list in June with inflammation in the elbow.
Megill was closed this month in his rehabilitation due to discomfort.
Megill came to Frankie Montas, Griffin Canning, Danny Young and Dedniel Núñez among Mets -Districts to undergo Tommy John operation this season.
Moreover, this month, Garrett was able to be on his way to such an operation after his closure with elbow inflammation this month.
Megill has served most of the last five seasons as a rotation depth for the Mets.
“We will miss him, especially if you are talking about the depth,” said Mendoza for the 9-7 victory of the Mets on the Cubs on Wigley Field. “It is our job to get it back on the field as quickly as possible.”
Tyrone Taylor was set for a full training for Tuesday’s competition that would determine whether he was activated from the injured list on Wednesday.
The Outfielder played in two Minor League Rehab matches of Triple-A Syracuse during the weekend in his comeback of a tense left hamstring that has kept him on the IL for the past three weeks.
Kodai Senga was confronted with batters in live batting exercise in Port St. Lucie, Fla. And threw approximately 45 throws.
Mendoza indicated that he had not assessed the video about the outing of Senga or spoke with the right -handed person.
Senga, who was chosen for the small competitions on 5 September, started twice for Syracuse.
The Mets try to determine whether SENGA may contribute to the selection if they reach the late season.
Starling Marte (1-out-4) started in the left field with Brandon Nimmo (2-out-5, one Homer, three RBIs) in the middle, allowing Mendoza to get an extra bat in the line-up without moving Jeff McNeil (1-out-4) of the second base.
Cedric Mullins and Jose Siri both struggle in sharing the center.
Nimmo’s start in the middle was his first this season.
Marte started his eighth game this season in the Outfield. Marte’s Outfield representatives are limited in an attempt to keep his right knee healthy.
“At the end, Marte felt almost 100 percent with the knee, that was also a big factor,” said Mendoza about the decision to start the veteran in the left field. “We’ve been watching and protect him for a long time, but we are at a point where he understands where we are and clearly understand that we want him to go to a few left -handed pitchers in the next few days.”
