Brentford relates a funny explanation that is confirmed

Brentford has confirmed that they have sold Yoane Wissa to Newcastle United.

A public statement (see below) released by the West London Club late on Monday evening.

Very funny, because Brentford now does not want their former striker much happiness.

This is very replicating the very short official statement from Newcastle United that went out half an hour earlier, with Alexander Isak moving to Liverpool.

That NUFC statement also chooses not to wish their departing striker the very best.

The two cold as ice declarations that summarize the bad feeling of the two clubs opposite their respective strikers that have forced movements.

Brentford Official rack Is Yaene Wissa – September 1, 2025:

‘Yoane Wissa has joined Newcastle United for an unknown compensation.

The attacker signed at the French club Lorient in August 2021 and scored 49 goals in 149 performances for Brentford.

In his first season, Wissa scored 10 goals in all competitions and then added another seven in 2022/23.

Wissa missed part of the 2023/24 campaign in the Africa Cup of Nations with Dr. Congo, where his nation was defeated by South Africa on penalties in the play-off in third place, but hit his best piece of shape in a Brentford shirt on his return.

Wissa ended that season with a series of eight goals and two assists in 15 games that helped him to become the top scorer of the bees.

During the 2024/25 campaign, Wissa became the record prime minister of the club (45) and surpassed the previous record of Ivan Toney of 36. He ended the season with 19 top goals. ‘
