BREAKING: Carlos Alcaraz and Juan Carlos Ferrero shockingly end their partnership

Six-time Grand Slam champion Carlos Alcaraz and coach Juan Carlos Ferrero have shockingly split after seven years together and achieved great success together.

Even before Alcaraz turned pro, he started working with 2003 French Open champion Ferrero. And their partnership became an instant success as the Spaniard won seven lower-level titles in the 2019 and 2020 seasons, before becoming Umag ATP champion in 2021. The following year the first Grand Slam title and the number 1 ranking in the world followed.

This year alone, the Spaniard had an excellent season after winning two Grand Slam titles and finishing as number 1 at the end of the year. The 22-year-old won a total of eight titles this year and posted a 71-9 record – leading the Tour in wins and titles.

Needless to say, the Spanish tennis star’s split from Ferrero sent shockwaves through the tennis world as no one saw it coming.

Where is Alcaraz going now?

The timing of their separation is interesting but also difficult as the new season starts in two weeks. If the six-time Grand Slam champion and Ferrero had had previous issues, they likely would have called time on their partnership after the 2025 season concluded. If the world number 1 wants to bring in someone new in early 2026, he will have to act quickly.

“Now come times of change for both of us, new adventures and new projects. But I am sure we will tackle them the right way and do our best, as we have always done. Always adding up,” said the reigning US Open champion.
