This year’s theme is ‘The Philosophy of Mathematics’, inviting artists, psychologists and philosophers to delve deeper into this often intimidating subject. The annual event stimulates the flow of ideas; this year, mathematics is considered an essential element in our lives.

Participants include filmmaker Werner Herzog, who will give a keynote speech, artist Paul Chan who will share the ‘secret spirit of calculus’, a workshop with Irene Koloseus and Feraba with a focus on tap dancing and the rhythm of numbers, and the return of the ‘Ask a Shrink’ lecture. There will also be performances by musicians Marcus G. Miller and Joe Goodkin. If all the math is stressing you out, there are certified therapy dogs available.
The free event begins at 7:00 PM on Saturday, March 14 at the Library on Grand Army Plaza and runs until 3:14 AM on Sunday morning. You can view the full program on the website event page online.
