Following the lease-only Soloera Solo 1C electric scooter, Blueshark has now released the Soloera Solo 2, which includes a free Blueshark helmet, with a pre-order price of RM5,599 for the first 50 customers. The retail price of the Solo 2 will then be RM6,399, all prices excluding the RM2,400 MARiiCas discount that is currently on hold.
There is also the requirement for a five-year dual battery rental agreement of RM99 per month plus the connectivity package fee of RM10 per month. Every Soloera Solo 2 comes with an unlimited warranty during the rental period.
The Solo 2 is powered by two 70.4 volt, 28 Ah LPF batteries, which drive a 4.0 kW hub motor on the rear wheel. Maximum speed is reported to be 95 km/h with a range of 140 km, tested to NEC standards with a 75 kg rider on board.
There is also a direct charging option for the Solo 2 using home electricity. However, the charging time for the Solo 2’s dual battery packs has not been revealed.
The suspension uses conventional telescopic forks at the front with 65mm of travel, while the rear of the Solo 2 is held up by twin shock absorbers with adjustable spring preload. Braking is done with single hydraulic discs at the front and rear, with the combined braking system proportioning the braking force.
The weight of the Solo 2 is 132 kg with both batteries installed, while the seat height is set at 760 mm with a ground clearance of 160 mm. Three color options are available – Stardust Blue, Eclipse Gold and Orion Gray – and assembly takes place at EP Manufacturing’s factory in Shah Alam, Selangor.
