When snowboarders cross the border for fresh powder, they usually travel to the Alps or the Andes. Cocaine trafficking is not high on the priority list. Ryan Wedding competed as a snowboarder for Canada in the 2002 Winter Olympics. He is now an alleged international drug lord. Mexican authorities last week seized a collection of motorcycles believed to have belonged to Wedding. From the photos shared, it appears that most of the motorcycles were racing machines used in MotoGP. The collection is estimated to be worth $40 million. This comes just a month after Wedding’s one-of-six Mercedes CLK GTR Roadster was seized by the FBI.

The fleet of 62 racing motorcycles was discovered and seized during the execution of search warrants at four locations in Mexico City and the State of Mexico. according to ABC news. The impressive collection includes numerous bikes used by Ducati Corse, the manufacturer’s MotoGP factory team. The Ducati Desmosedici motorcycles were ridden by notable names such as Loris Capirossi, Valentino Rossi, Jorge Lorenzo, Andrea Iannone and Andrea Dovisioso. The non-Ducati bikes are just as valuable. Wedding is an international fugitive with a $15 million bounty

Federal police focused on Wedding and his alleged drug empire last year Operation Giant Slalom. I’m not kidding that it was actually called giant slalom. The U.S. Department of Justice charged Wedding with eight crimes in October 2024. The following month, a joint operation between the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police resulted in the arrest of seven Canadians believed to be linked to the venture. Wedding, however, escaped arrest and is still on the run. The 44-year-old was added to the FBI Ten Most Wanted Fugitives in March.

The Ministry of Justice announced new charges against Wedding last month, alleging he ordered the killing of a federal witness in Colombia earlier this year. The Canadian is also said to have committed three other murders himself and ordered another murder. A $15 million reward is currently being offered for information leading to his arrest. Wedding is considered armed and dangerous.
