The Third and final ODI between Australia and South Africa In the Great Barrier Reef Arena in Mackay would be about cricket fireworks – and there were plenty. He stopped the ball under his shirt as a priceless artifact and pulled out a brutal magic trick act.

The real clou came back to the field when he ended up for a big pitch – just to falsify it. The exaggerated movement even fooled the cameras and let the crowd crave a fraction of a second. Had he really thrown it back? Not entirely. Only after milking each our drama did he finally return the ball to play, leaving everyone in stitches behind. Within minutes his antics had relieved social media, which again proves that the funniest moments of cricket often come from the stands.

Lost in all the laughter was the fact that Brevis had been sensational with the bat.
