Audi has created a stop-motion holiday video using die-cast cars. It’s great

Audi is officially getting into the holiday mood. The automaker recently shared a short video about its Audi USA Instagram page that reimagines Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer with die-cast cars floating through the snow instead of flying reindeer. It’s cute as hell.

The one minute and 40 second clip, titled “Holiday game, the Audi way,” is packed with miniature versions of some of Audi’s most iconic vehicles: production cars, race cars and beloved classics. The cars slide down snowbanks, build snowmen and generally have a great old time together.

The video starts with a close-up of an Audi Q8 driving out of a cute gingerbread garage. From there, well-known siblings like the RS6 Avant, RS3 and A6 E-Tron quickly join the fun. Of course, it wouldn’t be a true Audi holiday party without the brand’s legendary racing cars; the Dakar racer, the original Quattro, the R10 TDI and many others.

The finale brings it all together as the diecast cars make their way to a huge gingerbread house, where they proudly display Audi’s glowing four-ring logo. It’s just a fun video to get gearheads in the holiday spirit. Check it out below:

And if you’re wondering, no, this isn’t AI-generated. Audi confirmed that the video was made with real die-cast cars and a full production crew. The company even shared a few behind the scenes photos shows how each scene was carefully staged, highlighting the time and effort that went into creating this stop-motion goodness.

Knowing the difficulties of stop motion, it’s hard to imagine how long it probably took to complete this project. But the result speaks for itself. At the time of writing, the video has already been viewed 411,000 times.
