Manchester United has received a big boost in their push to forget defender Tyrell Malacia discharge.

According to Renowned journalist Fabrizio RomanoAS Roma has made contact with Man United for the transfer of Malacia.

He is “enthusiastic about the move”, with Besiktas also interested in signing the left back.

Malacia was the first signing of the Erik ten Hag era.

Just like his former coach, the 25-year-old did not meet expectations.

Many United fans saw Malacia as one of the top perspectives and were pleased with his move to Old Trafford.

He was tipped to push Luke Shaw for a starting point, but the reality turned out to be much harder.

Persistent injuries and faltering form have left him completely outside the long -term plans of Amorim.

A devastating knee injury brought him aside for the entire campaign of 2023-24, where his recovery dragged well into the following season.

Malacia only played eight times before he was sent on loan to PSV in a desperate bid for minutes.

United signed Patrick Dorgu from Serie A Outfit Lecce earlier this year.

The Denmark International has had a fantastic pre-season and is impressed by his determined performance during the 0-1 defeat against Arsenal.

The Red Devils further strengthened their left wing slot by signing Diego Leon this summer.

The young star Harry Amass is another alternative to Amorim, but the 18-year-old is expected to leave a season loan this summer.

Malacia has no future at Old Trafford, and United has to come up with him, even at a bargain price.

The left back is not the only United player who wants to sign Roma.

They are ready to make a dive for Jadon Sancho, but have not yet received the green light from the English international.

For United, the rapid shifting of both Sancho and Malacia is the key to freeing funds for new arrivals.
