Arsenal are interested in signing Levante striker Etta Eyong

Arsenal are among the clubs interested in signing Levante striker Karl Etta Eyong.

The Cameroonian is on the radar of Europe’s top teams after a brilliant start to the La Liga campaign. Etta Eyong signed for Levante from Villarreal in a deal worth just €3.5 million, but scored six goals and provided three assists in just twelve league matches.

Clubs are circling the 22-year-old ahead of the January transfer window, with Spanish outlet Sport claim that there is concrete interest from North London.

Arsenal are keeping an eye on the player’s performances as Mikel Arteta looks for competition for Viktor Gyokeres. Due to injuries to Kai Havertz and Gabriel Jesus, Arsenal are short on attackers this season, with Mikel Merino being used as a backup option.

Levante recently rejected a €30 million bid from CSKA Moscow and are aware of interest from some of Europe’s top teams. Real Madrid and Barcelona have each monitored Etta Eyong’s progress this season.

The forward made his debut for Cameroon earlier this year and is expected to feature in The Indomitable Lions challenge at the Africa Cup of Nations, starting next month. Etta Eyong recently discussed his ‘dream’ of playing in the Premier League at some stage of his career.
