Alexander Zverev will be confronted with Carlos Alcaraz in the semi -final of Cincinnati Masters. The 2021 champion played at a high level against the Canada Masters champion Ben Shelton in the quarterfinals and achieved a dominant 6-2, 6-2 victory in an hour and 17 minutes.

World no. 3 made his fans scared when he asked a medical time out in the second set! The German started to feel dizzy at the end of the first set, with the breathing issues and his head.

However, he stayed without problems and brought the victory home in no time. Zverev did not understand what was happening and said he felt the best in months before the setback appeared.

The German will do his best to recover on Saturday evening and challenge Carlos Alcaraz in a battle for a place in the final. Alexander beat Ben for the fourth time in so many encounters and reached his 22nd Masters 1000 semi -final.

Zverev was confronted with problems, but Shelton looked like someone who had more serious problems! The American played miles under his best, sprayed too many mistakes and ended his winning series after nine games.

Alexander saved the only breaking point with which he was confronted and kept the pressure on the other side. He took 48% of the return points and converted four of the 11 breaking points to control and continue the scoreboard.

The German has tamed his strokes nicely and welcomed 27 casual mistakes from the other side. Ben wasted a 40-0 lead in the third game of the game and missed a volley to drop serve and fall behind 3-1.

The American was confronted with five breaking points in the fifth match. He sprayed a double error on the last to suffer another break and fall 4-1 behind. Zverev served on 5-2 for the opener and stood for the only breaking point.

He managed to make it with a non-refunded serve and landed a bait on a set of point for 6-2 in 40 minutes. World no. 3 took another break in the third game of the second set when his rival yielded a forehand.

Alexander received a medical time -out during the break, but continued without problems. He kept a service winner in Game Four and provided a new break on 3-1 after the backhand error of Shelton.

The German moved 5-1 with a non-backed serve and had the opportunity to close the game at 5-2. Former champion was held at the age of 15 after to have forced Ben’s fault, to move over the top and to collision against Carlos Alcaraz,

“I don’t feel too great now. I have a day to be fresh and hopefully feel 100%again. We’ll see. I am not sure what happened. I got on the field today and felt the best the ball felt incredibly good from both sides.

I didn’t start to feel so great at the end of the opening set, and it got worse. I will do everything to be at my best tomorrow, “said Alexander Zverev.
