Dodgers 3, Padres 2: Clayton Kershaw plays Stopper while the pen holds the lead for the sweet life – Dodgers Digest

3 minutes, 41 seconds Read

The Padres came in the city with the NL West lead, while the Dodger -Vibes reached a new low point in 2025 when the angels completed their sweep. The team had to be hasty, and it was none other than Clayton Kershaw who returned the clock to play when the team needs him the most. The Dodgers gave him an early lead and then at the end at the end of the end, the pen clamped for a 3-2 victory to first restore the Dodgers.

=======

Let’s start with Clayton Kershaw, who turned the clock back when the Dodgers needed him to stop as it was more than ten years ago. After he had beaten a few in a clean 1st, he got two in the 2nd before he gives up a Ramon Laureano Homer of the honest pole to the left of the Padres to set up the Padres with 1-0.

After the Homer he ran the next batter and then went to 10 in a row on his way to the 6th. In that inning he gave up a single to start that broke the streak, but got a line out and a double play to face the minimum there.

They needed him and he delivered: 6 IP, 2 H, 1 R, 1 BB, 3 K, 76 throws.

Things started ominously for the attack, while they went in order of the first two frames.

But the 3rd was a big chance for the attack, when a rally behind singles started by Michael Conforto and Alex Freeland. Looking to stay out of the double game, squared Miguel Rojas, but looked like he was in third place. Fortunately, Manny Machado’s diving attempt deflected it for a single and the bases were juited.

With that opportunity, the bats still couldn’t open the game, but they took the lead on a Groundout RBI from Shohei Ohtani and a pocket fly by Mookie Betts to bring the score to 2-1.

In the next three innings they only succeeded in a few walks, but Teoscar Hernandez gave them insurance in the 7th by hammering a solo shot (19th) to bring 3-1.

After a few walks to Andy pages and Alex call followed, a strikeout made the two down, but a double stem brought both to scoring position. Miguel Rojas worked a battle of seven seeds and hit the ball hard, but that was the end of the rally.

It was also the end of the score of the attack.

——

For the much malignant Dodgers pen, it was Ben Casparis to start in the 7th, to give up a two-out Double, but managed to keep the padres off the board.

It did not go so smoothly for Alex Vesia, because he hit back-to-back batters to start the 8th, and then got a SAC shot that both written them on. After a dubious check-swing call during the battle, he gave a walk on a full count to load the bases. Luis Arraez followed with a bag along the line on the left to bring 3-2, and that was the end of the line for Vesia.

Blake Tinnen came in and threw one pitch, got a pop-up from Manny Machado to prevent a disaster.

That has set things up for the 9th and the newest man to get a run at Leverage in Alexis Diaz. He started well with a strikeout before a nine-pitch at bat resulted in a single, but he returned with a new strikeout to put them on the edge. With two lefts who came up, Dave Roberts turned to Jack Dreyer for the last zero and he got a harmless fly -out to end the middle to end the game.

Damn hell.
