Today there are ten questions and answers about Christmas! We hang out with some other bloggers and talk a bit about what Christmas means to us… Feel free to answer the questions yourself, or write a comment!
The Blog Brides Ten Days of Christmas
The following questions come from “Blogbrudarnas ten om julen” – five bloggers who usually publish posts on the same theme. You can read these ‘blog brides’ answers to the questions here: Anna Forsberg, Mona, Sara and Barcelona, Life in the suburbs And Channel.
1. Do you have a special Christmas tradition, something that you would never skip/ignore?
We don’t really have great Christmas traditions. When we are on the road, the Christmas celebration can be anything. When we are at home in Sweden, we like to eat delicious Christmas food. Herring and nubbe are a priority for us. Anthon Berg’s marzipan is, if possible, welcome to participate. Another important tradition is meeting or having contact with family and friends.

2. How does the Christmas you want differ from the Christmas you actually experience?
In recent years, Christmas has become a time when we are at home, and the best part about it is that we get some rest and have time to catch up on things. We like that! We also like to see family and friends. In some contexts there is a big emphasis on Christmas presents, and we would have liked to skip or shorten that part in particular.

3. What is important to you on Christmas Eve morning?
Christmas Eve morning? No, we don’t have any traditions… Sometimes we might start with a crispy sandwich with Christmas ham and mustard. Really good!

4. Does the religious background of Christmas have a place in your celebration?
No, not at all. The only small place that religion can get is that I find it interesting to delve into and write about how traditions are connected and have developed. It’s exciting!

5. Do you think it is important that Christmas food is valid on the dining table when it is Christmas Eve?
When we’re on the road, it doesn’t matter – we eat what’s served. When we are at home in Sweden, we like to choose Christmas food. It doesn’t have to be far from it everything – we prefer to choose what we like.

6. Do you have craft evenings where you make your own Christmas presents and/or Christmas decorations?
No, we don’t have that. I’m not picky at all. Peter’s cuddly side finds an outlet when he sews clothes or cooks delicious meals. Some years we get into the spirit and cook some Christmas food…

7. Have you experienced a Christmas that you would rather forget?
I remember getting a migraine on Christmas Eve. We were home alone, so Peter had to eat himself, while I was sick and throwing up. No height.

8. What is your fondest Christmas memory from when you were little?
Children’s Christmas parties were great! We usually celebrated Christmas with my grandmother and grandfather, in an idyllic house in Småland. The most beautiful memory is probably exactly that: the house in Småland surrounded by a snowy landscape, where you could pedal wonderfully.

9. What was the most memorable thing about last Christmas – and what do you want to take with you?
Last Christmas we were at home in Stockholm. Only on Christmas Eve did we hole up at home with simple Christmas food, and on other days we met with family and friends. What we remember best about the Christmas holidays of recent years is that we had peace and quiet at home. When there aren’t so many emails, we finally get a handle on things…nice!

10. If you could think of a brand new Christmas tradition that everyone should follow, what would it be?
Hmm… Maybe Christmas presents are only for children or that other adults only get something small edible, i.e. something that will definitely be used instead of buying expensive things for people who already have “everything”? Or that you instead spend the Christmas gift money on contributing to a person or organization that really needs it?
I would also like to introduce a smaller focus on making Christmas Eve perfect and a bigger focus on making the entire week around Christmas a time for rest and fun.
