10 motorcycles that deliver coaching functions without the hefty price tag

There is often a bit of a misconception that coach bikes are expensive motorcycles. Although it is true that there are a number of crazy full-dress tourers on the market, like each segment, there are certainly more affordable options. These bikes may not be that luxurious, but they still offer all the modern functions that we have met and that we love.

It goes without saying that if you shop with a budget, you have to compromise in some areas. Several of these bikes leave their luggage on the option list in an attempt to keep the price low. Others will not offer much comfort, but there is still something for everyone, and none of them costs more than $ 15,000.

Suzuki GSX-S1000GT+

In reality, the difference between the Suzuki GSX-S1000GT+ and the equally priced Kawasaki Ninja 1100 SX is so small that it would amount to personal preference. We would choose it, simply because it uses one of the most legendary liter-bicycle engines of all time-now in a melody optimized for street use and it comes with everything as standard, including luggage. In our opinion, this offers the best balance between performance, functions and costs.

Yamaha initially threw everything on this platform, including radar! Although the GT+ is great, all those functions make it quite expensive compared. The basic model Tracer 9 already has almost everything you need in one neat package. The only reservation is the fact that every triple, even the venerable CP3, will have some vibrations that can be felt by the steering wheel on highway speed. Some riders will not notice it, others will do that, so a test drive will be the order of the day.

Just like the Tracer 9, some vibrations will be felt at higher speeds in the Triumph Tiger Sport 800, but what you get in exchange for your money here is more than worth it. Although the frame is based on the 660, it is strongly revised to house a completely new engine. Unfortunately, the luggage is missing here, but apart from that this is a function-rich bike for the price.

Honda has also added a list of competitive functions and it is difficult to ignore for this price.

Although DCT adds a certain degree of touring comfort and accessibility for a very reasonable amount, the manual is both cheaper and more fun. It may not have a V-twin, but for the price we can hardly think of a better dredger.

Undoubtedly, the biggest rival of the Versys is nowadays the Tiger Sport 660. Although it has about 30 hp less than its 800cc sister, in the real world, where there are speed limits and bad roads that do not really matter. Triumph recently added nice-to-have functions, such as Cruise Control (although a must-have for some buyers) and a Quickshifter. It is also exceptionally comfortable and more than able to process a cross-country trip.

While it is a bit on the pig’s side, it carries its weight pretty well and has a considerable amount of torque.

Although well equipped, it is not the most powerful, so if your speed you are looking for, you will not find it here.
