The Punjab Speedster Arshdeep is perhaps one of the most reliable pacers in the world, and he is the highest wicket task for India in the history of T20i Cricket.
Your daily dose of cricket!
Arshdeep can be considered an all-format player because he remains part of India’s T20i, ODI and Testquads in all important competitions. However, he has only received a handful of opportunities in 50-over cricket and has yet to make his test debut.
Many expected Arshdeep, one of only three Indian bowlers who started his T20i career with a girl, to finally get his test hood on the English tour, but it didn’t happen.
He was one of the three unfortunate Indian players who did not get any opportunities in the against England. Abhimanyu Easwaran, Arshdeep Singh and Kuldeep Yadav were the players held on the sidelines by head coach Gautam Gambhir.
In particular, the left arm Pacer was in line to play the fourth test match, which started on July 23 in Old Trafford in Manchester, but he was excluded from the game.
Prior to the competition, Arshdeep Singh rose an “impact injury” on his left thumb while bowling in the nets in Beckenham, and the young Pacer Anshul Kamboj had the chance to make his debut.
It’s not like there was a lack of bowling – Arshdeep Singh
On the sidelines of the Duleep trophy, where Arshdeep plays for the North Zone, he talked about whether he became frustrated during the tour and England and how he motivated himself.
The Pacer stated that he put his 100% in training sessions and kept himself completely ready to play when he got a chance.
“If you don’t play, you just try to push your limits. The training is almost the same. You just do more work if you don’t play. More overs, more power work, more training, so that when you get the chance, you are ready and completely suitable to go,” he said, as quoted by Espncricinfo.
“I don’t know how many thousands of balls I would have bent in practice. It is not as if there was a lack of bowling. I was good to manage my workload. The goal is to stay ready when you get a chance.”
I started to practice with a white ball – Arshdeep Singh
Arshdeep Singh further said that he started to prepare himself on the Asia Cup 2025, which will start on September 9 in England itself while practicing the white ball. He said:
“Immediately from the last test [at The Oval]I started to practice with a white ball. I did not know that there was a dullep -trophy match in between. At the end of the day, red ball, white ball or pink ball, you have to play cricket and try to enjoy it.
‘I have the chance here [at the Duleep Trophy]then plays with a white ball [at the Asia Cup]. The goal is therefore to place a lot of overs under your belt and to play any size.
