Youssef Assouik has learned valuable lessons during his promotion debut and is now planning to unleash a completely different version of himself. The Danish Moroccan striker has adjusted his approach for months after driving crucial experience with the unique 4-essence gloves of one championship.
The 30-year-old former two-division ISKA world champion is confronted with Rungraewee Sitsongpeenong at One Fight Night 34: Eersel vs. Jarvis On Friday, August 1 in Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand. Assouik achieved a heavily fought unanimous decision victory on the former world title Challenger Sinsamut Klinmee in his debut in October 2024 and settled as a legitimate lightweight Muay Thai party.
The veteran established in Denmark admits that his first performance served as an educational experience instead of a real showcase of his capacities. In the meantime, months of preparation have enabled him to fully adapt to the distinctive rules and equipment requirements of the organization. Assouik believes that fans will witness a drastically different hunter when he steps into the ring against the dangerous Thai striker.
His self -confidence has grown exponentially since that debut performance, because the former WMC world champion no longer feels hesitant about the smaller gloves. But Assouik understands that Rungrawee is an important step in the competition, which means he has to raise his game accordingly. The Scandinavian hunter welcomes the challenge and regards it as an opportunity to prove his champion references.
“This time I will change my style. I will be more aggressive. The last time I moved a lot to check how much damage I can get from the small gloves and everything. But this time my plan is to be an more aggressive Yousef,” he said.
“This time I will feel more confident with small gloves, because I know now. I am really excited to be back in the ring, especially at Lumpinee in Bangkok,” he said.
