Yankees’ Jazz Chisholm ‘should be good’ for play -offs after forearm injury

Jazz Chishholm Jr. Was from the Yankees -Starting Line -up for Game 162, but he seems to go on Tuesday for the play -offs.

A day after the second Honkman took a 97 km / h zinc shed from the left forearm, so that he would leave the victory on the Orioles in the fifth inning on Saturday, Chisholm still experienced some swelling and pain that held him on the couch to start the game.

But he squeezed the seventh inning, threw out and played the last two innings in the field.

“I should be good,” said Chisholm for Sunday’s 3-2 victory in Yankee Stadium.

Chishholm underwent X-rays and a CT scan on Saturday, all of which came back negatively.

“I think he’s pretty good,” said Aaron Boone manager. “A bit painful, but nothing too serious, I don’t think.”

José Caballero started on second base for Chisholm, who ended the year with 31 home runs and 31 steals and should be back in the line -up against the Red Sox on Tuesday.

Ben Rice closed the season in style with a few home runs that gave him 26 on the season.

The catcher/first Honkman hit .304 with a .943 Ops over his last 44 games.

He hit a huge Grand Slam in Baltimore last Sunday to close a series for his big day Sunday.

“Really since the game before he hit the Grand Slam and [four] Hits against Baltimore in Baltimore, he had no great game that hurled the bat, made some adjustments, “said Boone.” Since that point, this one last week or so from games, it was a lot of great battles, louder contact.

“Benny Barrels has done his thing. He is in a great place to go inside. Of course he will play a major role for us.”

Rice said the adjustment had to do with having the ball travel further before he got off his swing.

Caballero, whose goal was to steal 50 bases, stole his 49th bag of the season in the fifth inning, but was then selected from the second base by Lefty Reliever Keegan Akin for the first zero, with rice on the plate.
