WTA Rankings Report – from September 22, 2025 – Open Court

No changes in the top 10, but Iga Swiateek is a bit closer to the number 1 place by banking the 500 points she earned by winning the Seoul tournament.

It was not easy. A double header on Saturday because of rain – not that she was pushed. But it is still a double workload.

And then she was in major problems in the final against Ekaterina Alexandrova, who seemed to fight against the concept of beating Swiateek and winning the tournament. Even though she won there three years ago.

Swiatek is still 2,800 points behind Sabalenka, who will not play Beijing next week.

Leylah Fernandez (CAN): No. 28 ==========> Nr. 25 (Fernandez goes back to the top 25, but especially because other players fell off. She did not play Seoul and will start her Asian swing this week in Beijing. So she will take it.

Sofia Kenin (US): No. 30 =====> Nr. 26 (Kenin, now 26, just hangs a bit in the ranking, without doing anything great. She lost in the second round in Seoul).

Barbora Krejkova (Jun): Nr. 39 ==========> 34 (Worth playing the Seoul event because she made the quarterfinals and in January less than 50 points away from a seed in Melbourne. She also reeste again with Katerina Siniakova in double and won the tournament).

Maya Joint (Aus): Nr. 46 =========> Nr. 36 (What a year the 19-year-old has, without even having made huge splashes in the biggest events. But by making the semi-final in Seoul, she is now in a career high and can also be sown at her home lamb in January with so many points to still get to Asia).

Loïs Boisson (FRA): No. 49 =========> Nr. 41 (It was an interesting career bog for Boisson, who was a surprise of the semi-final of Roland Garros and then a bit disappeared for the grass and the summer-hard season until she appeared in the US open. She won a round in Seoul-and suddenly she is in a different career height).

Katerina Siniakova (Jun): No. 77 ==========> Nr. 62 (On top of the game in Dubbel, Siniakova mainly came to Seoul to play singles. And after having come through the qualification, she came to the semi -final. She also won the Doubles with Barbora Krejcikova on Sunday, after playing three games on Saturday).

Katie Swan (GBR): No. 451 =========> Nr. 378 (The former top -junior prospect and no. 18, now 26, returns from Inury on the Australian ITF circuit. She adds a title in Wagga Wagga that beats Lizette Cabrera in the Semis and Taylor Preston in the final).

Daria Kasatkina (AUS): No. 16 ===========> Nr. 20 (Kasatkina lost in the second round in Seoul after making the final a year ago. She is still in the top 20, but only about 60 points. And she has almost 800 points to defend on the Asian Swing).

Marta Kostyuk (OKR): No. 26 ==========> Nr. 28 (Kostyuk drops her points a year ago from a quarterfinals in Seoul, while she dedicates the week to the Billie Jean King Cup final. She was not alone. It’s a shame it’s a choice).

Veronika Kudermetova (Russian): No. 27 ==========> Nr. 30 (Kudermetova made the semi -final in Seoul last year. But she didn’t play this time).

Beatriz Haddad Maia (Bra): no. 25 ==========> Nr. 40 (Haddad Maia had to come to Seoul a bit, where she was the defending champion. But it was a super-like commuting after she played the new event in Sao Paulo-a rare opportunity to play at home. She was the number 1 seed there, but threw in the quarter finals. San Paulo> Seoul is not exactly a picnic.

Laura Siegemund (Ger): Nr. 43 ========> Nr. 53 (Siegemund lost in the first round in Seoul, after making the final on a WTA 250 in Hua Hin a year ago that is … There is no more. And so she falls from the top 50).

Rebecca Sramkova (SVK): No. 38 =========> Nr. 55 (Sramkova won that Hua Hin tournament a year ago – so she could jump from outside the top 00 to no. 61. She then qualified and made the third round on the WTA 1000 in Beijing, who almost brought her to the top 50. But this year she didn’t play).

Polina Kudermetova (Russian): No. 65 =========> Nr. 76 (Just like her sister, Kudermetova skipped Seoul this year. She made the quarterfinals there a year ago as a happy loser outside the top 160).
