Wipro denies Siddaramaiah’s request to open Campus Road to illuminate the Bengaluru traffic

WIPRO founder Azim Premji, who responded to the letter from the Chief Minister of Karnataka Siddaramaiah, refused to allow his request for limited public vehicle movements by the company’s intensuru campus to alleviate the traffic congestion on the Outer Ring Road (ORR).

Premji emphasized the legal, governance and legal challenges, and noted that “the Sarjapur -Campus is private property and is part of a special economic zone (SEZ) that offers services to global customers.”

He added that “” contractual obligations require strict access control and allowing public use of the campus would not offer sustainable, long -term solution. “

However, the company expressed its willingness to collaborate with the state governance for a partnership, data -driven approach to tackle the traffic challenges of Bengaluru and proposed to hire an extensive study led by experts in urban transport management to develop executable solutions.

In his letter, Premji Siddaramaiah thanked for recognizing Wipro’s contributions to Karnataka and recognized the urgency of tackling traffic problems along the ORR, listed an area as an export -oriented economic hub. He noted that “the complexity of the problem, which comes from several factors, means that it is unlikely that there is a single solution.”

Premji suggested hiring a scientific study led by experts in the management of urban transport.

“Such an exercise would enable us to develop a holistic route map of effective solutions that can be implemented in the short, average and long -term. To demonstrate our dedication to be part of the solution, Wipro will be happy to participate in this process and endorse a significant part of the costs for this expert study,” he wrote.

Despite these limitations, Premji confirmed Wipro’s dedication to collaborate with the government of Karnataka, and emphasized that “a data -driven approach will produce the most impactful results for our city.”
