Wichita, Kan.- de Wichita Thunder, Echl branch of the San Jose Sharks of the National Hockey League and San Jose Barracuda of the American Hockey League, announced that goalkeeper Roddy Ross was signed for the 2025-26 season.
Ross, 24, joined the Thunder at the end of his university season last March. The Meadow Lake, native Saskatchewan went 2-1-0 with a 1.65 goals against average EN .957 savings percentage.
He played a four -year collegial career at the University of Saskatchewan. Ross concluded his university career with a record of 37-15-4 to be with a 2.37 goals against average and .928 savings percentage. He went this 10-4-0 this last season with an S1.99 goals against average and .928 savings percentage.
Ross was selected in the sixth round (169th General) by the Philadelphia Flyers in the NHL Entry Draft 2019. He also represented Team Canada in the Fisu World University Games in 2023 and won a gold medal.

Prior to the university, Ross played for three years in the Western Hockey League with Seattle and Regina. His best season came in 2018-19 with the Thunderbirds, with 16-5-2 with a 2.76 goals-to-average and .919 savings percentage.
He was recognized as the Canada West goalkeeper of the year and honored with the native Achievement Award. Other prizes that Ross collected last year include Canada West Best Team Goals against Average, First All-Star Team and All-Canadian Second Team.
